3 tips to help avoid fraud over the holidays

03 December 2019

As the festive season approaches, it’s the perfect time to ensure your finances and personal information is safeguarded and secure from any fraudulent activity. At RAMS we understand the importance of keeping you up to date with the latest security information and advice to help protect you, your family and friends.

Here are 3 useful tips on how to stay safe from phone, SMS and email fraud:

  1. Protect your identity - never provide your personal or security details, including passwords, in response to an email, SMS or phone call, even if it looks legitimate. We’ll never ask for this information over these channels.
  2. Use caution when opening unexpected emails or text messages. Don't open any suspicious links, pop-up windows and attachments as these may infect your computer with malware. Delete all suspicious emails.
  3. Regularly check your accounts for any suspicious transactions.

If you believe your security has been compromised, contact us immediately on 13 RAMS, that’s 13 7267.
