30 March 2017 Media Release RAMS today announced changes to its interest rates for some variable rate home loan products. The majority of RAMS customers who are owner occupiers making principal and interest repayments are not impacted by this announcement. • The standard variable home loan rate for owner occupiers will increase by 0.10% to 5.55% per annum for customers with interest only repayments1; • The standard variable investment loan rate will increase by 0.18% to 5.78% per annum for customers with principal and interest repayments1; • The standard variable investment loan rate will increase by 0.28% to 5.98% per annum for customers with interest only repayments1; and • The variable interest rate for line of credit customers will increase by 0.50% to 6.05% per annum1. RAMS Executive Director, Ainslie van Onselen, said the changes reflect the complex environment, including rising costs of funding and increasing regulatory responsibilities. “Despite home loan interest rates being at historically low levels, the costs of both deposits and wholesale funding of mortgages have increased in the past nine months. “We are pleased to be able to keep variable rates unchanged for the majority of our customers who are owner occupiers making principal and interest repayments. “We are encouraging customers to pay down their loan faster in this low rate environment by providing lower variable interest rates to customers who make principal and interest repayments, and making it easy for customers to switch from interest only repayments.” Customers who are currently making interest only repayments are able to move to principal and interest repayments at no charge by contacting 13 RAMS, that’s 13 7267. For more information, or assistance and advice in relation to existing or new loans, customers can visit their local RAMS Home Loan Centre, www.rams.com.au or call 13 RAMS that’s 13 7267. RAMS will continue to offer a range of competitive mortgage products to cater for individual circumstances and lifestyle needs. The new interest rates will be effective from 21 April 2017. - end s - For RAMS media enquiries and interviews, please see our Contacts page.
